The construction of a pipe organ of the highest quality begins
with careful planning. Beginning with initial designs for
prospective clients through the detailed layout drawings
from which each individual Schantz organ is constructed,
Schantz Organ Company's talented engineering staff oversees
every detail.
When preparing a proposal for consideration, an extensive engineering
study is completed to assure the instrument can be built utilizing
the highest level of mechanical integrity - including ease of access
for service and tuning. This initial review may include the completion
of a line drawing or a three dimensional proposal drawing depicting
the visual conception of the instrument's design. Once commissioned,
detailed drawings of each instrument are completed and are utilized
in the construction and installation of the new organ.
The photos at the left illustrate the design process. A photograph
of the church with its existing instrument was utilized as the
backdrop for a computer generated rendering of our proposed new
instrument. The photo below shows the completed instrument after
its installation at St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church in Plymouth,
Minnesota.
